Hello, everyone! Sketched, here.

These deviations were the group'sfeatured folder entries for the last section of 2012. We'll be updating the featured folder within the next week or so if all goes well and I will do my best to kick my butt into gear and get these features back onto schedule. Please give these deviants' galleries a look and leave a comment and/or critique if you have the chance. The main reason behind these features is to showcase entries that need more feedback and that deserve more limelight.

On to the feature!

                                                                                    Drift by not-quite-right
Drift by :iconnot-quite-right: A lovely use of acrylic, watercolor and pen on paper, "Drift" balances cool colors with splashes of red quite nicely. The dripping and splashing of water across the page is done subtly at times and in a manner that is controlled, working well to the artist's advantage.

                                                                                      daisy chain by rabbits-nine
daisy chain by :iconrabbits-nine: Love the soft focus of the background, the warm green tones and how bright the daisy is in comparison. Just a cheerful image, color-wise, and the title brings to mind childhood.

                                                                                        Winter Water by ifsantag
Winter Water by :iconifsantag: I like that this image is so focused on such simple shapes as these little chain links, and the frozen motion of the dripping/beaded water hanging from each. The concept of winter and the cold comes across very well.

                                                                                      loki by ViieBhindi
loki by :iconviiebhindi: The artist picked a challenging character to draw, to be sure. Definitely some promise and recognizable as who the subject is, you can see the hard work put into the drawing.

                                                                                        Speed the Collapse by kabrex
Speed the Collapse by :iconkabrex:  This woman looks ready to take the world on! Digging the red-orange of her hair against the paler oranges of the sky- and how the artist managed to get that to work. The green stare is definitely the best part.

                                                                                        Selfie by crayolavomit
Selfie by :iconcrayolavomit: A really nice digital self portrait. I like how the artist rendered the hair, eyebrows, and glasses especially.

                                                                                        Alex Vondran by Kashi-NG
Alex Vondran by :iconkashi-ng: A rather neat looking OC piece. I particularly like the more rough shading style used on the fabric of the clothing.

M.A.G.I.C by  An interesting composition, focusing on the bug sitting on the vibrant yellow flower. The colors look rather intriguing in this.

Fly By by  A well-captured shot of dragonflies. One in particular is caught in midflight, appearing as if frozen in midair. Nicely done.

spring is in the air by SandyTheVampireKing
spring is in the air by :iconsandythevampireking: First touch of spring seen in the budding of flowers along branches. The soft pinks and soft focus of the image makes this a rather calm, soothing image.

                                                                                      Out by SketchedExistence
Out by :iconsketchedexistence: A linocut dealing with pushing away negative forces in life.

                                                                                      sea of glass by rabbits-nine
sea of glass by :iconrabbits-nine: I thought this was just a fascinating close-up of glass, allowing for even a view of the texture of scratch marks upon the surface. Dig the colors.

                                                                                      Distance by AwayInTheClouds
Distance by :iconawayintheclouds: The artist was influenced by ink wash paintings and you can definitely see the influence in both subject matter and the dark silhouettes of trees.
